Hungry Little Accidents explores how some of the Central Midwest’s most iconic foods — the Reuben, cheese puffs, taco pizza, the ice cream sundae, and toasted ravioli — were created entirely by accident. These stories show how unexpected moments and everyday creativity shaped the region’s food identity. This documentary follows these origins all the way to St. Louis, where STL Toasted is building on the legacy of toasted ravioli with a fresh and modern approach. Its work shows how a dish born from a mistake continues to evolve through new voices and ideas.
