Hosted by Taylor Atchison
When Bosnia-Herzegovina broke from Yugoslavia in 1991, many citizens were caught in the crossfire of the ensuing civil war. While most children in the United States were worried about Saturday morning cartoons, Elvir Klempic was worried about learning English so he could escape his home in Srebrenica, where the 1995 Srebrenica Massacre occurred. Meet one refugee who learned how to make America home at the age of 5 and now wants the country that gave him refuge to do the same for others.
