Home on the Plains with Mic – Episode 14

“Adjusting my lifestyle to quarantine has made me aware of my reliance on a schedule. My reliance on normalities. Reliance of patterns. I claim to be independent, to not need anyone or anything. I claim to be a free spirit, someone who goes with the flow and confidently enters situations. I realize I have been hypocritical. I need stabilization, at least in some form.”

During the pandemic, Urban Plains staff members are participating in “Home on the Plains,” a series in which we reflect on our experiences regarding quarantine from wherever each of us may be.

In these unprecedented times, we will be asking ourselves: How are we experiencing social distancing? What are we learning about ourselves? What are we learning about the communities around us?

Check out Mic’s episode below.

At Urban Plains, we seek to produce content that celebrates the Midwestern experience. While our staff come from all over the United States, we’ve each made a home in the rolling plains and friendly cities that make up this unique region of the country. In the coming weeks, we hope to be a place to find peace of mind during this unprecedented time. We will continue to share the stories, videos, podcasts, photos, and other content that we know you have an appetite for. Wishing good health to you all.
